撞電桿腦死　捐器官遺愛人間

53歲林姓男子2個月前由台北回到新港老家照顧生病的父親，本月13日下午騎機車外出，傍晚6時許在民雄被發現騎機車撞電桿，送至大林慈濟醫院急診，因顱內出血，昏迷指數3，兩眼已瞳孔放大腦死，由於林男生前曾多次向家人表達器捐的意願，家屬決定為他圓滿遺愛人間的心願，今天完成器捐手術，捐出心臟、2顆腎臟、骨骼及皮膚等器官。
 
林男從事室內裝潢工作，太太是慈濟志工；林太太表示，丈夫生前曾一再提到，萬一發生意外，不要急救，以免拖累家人，直接把器官捐出去，幫助更多需要的人，家人都很認同器官捐贈的觀念，也希望幫丈夫圓滿這個心願。
 
上午8時30分，林男家人齊聚外科加護病房，大家一起合十念佛，祝福他乘願再來，氣氛莊嚴。（李宗祐／嘉義報導）
